How We Started
Humble Beginnings
Our charity Get Scrubbed WA Ltd was founded by like-minded individuals, a group of volunteers dedicated to making scrub hats, scrubs, and linen bags during the onset of the COVID19 pandemic in 2020. Our goal was to assist in protecting our frontline workers and to help improve their comfort during long shifts and underneath PPE .
Early Vision
Our aim was to help health care workers (HCWs) by providing no or low cost items to help them through the Covid pandemic. Items such as scrub hats, scrub tops, laundry and shoe bags.
In a short time we had made thousands of items.
Over the next couple of years the threat of covid and the needs of our scrubs had declined but the generosity of our wonderful volunteers had not. We moved and developed into a charity that remained health care based, helping hospitals and patients but broadened our charitable work to other organisations that also were needing goods for their community.
Moving Forward
Our charity is now able to meet, bringing together people regularly to engage in create items to lessen the hardship and sterile environment felt while in hospital, provide items to soften a negative experience or to provide families who maybe doing things tough.

We also combine the process of sustainable sewing in our objectives. Fabrics that are often destined for land fill often land in our laps to give them a second chance, becoming a tote bag to hold nappies and formula, a fidget quilt to reduce anxiety of a demential patient scared in the emergency department or an outfit for a baby born stillborn.
